Original Ashanti wood fertility doll from Ghana. Traditionally carried by women on their backs and believed it to bring pregnancy and a healthy childbirth. The Ashanti women would dress up the embryo appearing figure with clothes and adorn with jewelry as role teaching. Great collector’s piece with deep symbolism.
